I've found that as long as I'm eating protein-dominant real food with real, clean ingredients, I don't have to count calories; I don't have to go hungry. I can eat, literally, pizza 10 times per month, as many times as I want, burgers, tacos, fried chicken—as long as I'm eating when I'm hungry. I'm not eating around mealtimes; I'm eating when my body tells me, 'Hey, Alex, I need food. Put it in me.'
